Channel manager

One rate change, every channel

Stop logging into four extranets to reprice a bank-holiday weekend. You publish once from the planner and it goes out to every connected channel.

  • 24 channels: OTAs, bed banks, metasearch and niche sites
  • An explicit push queue: you publish when you decide
  • A room type that is not mapped never goes on sale

Drift is the problem, not distribution

Anyone can connect you to Booking.com. The hard part is that after three months of rate changes, one-off closures and concurrent bookings, the availability in the extranet is still the real availability. That comes down to how the pipes are built underneath.

Connection

Connecting a channel means filling in a form

Every channel has its own form asking for what it actually needs, its test and production environments, and a connection test. Airbnb runs on direct owner authorisation, with no credentials to copy across.

Pre-flight check

Before going live, the system checks that room type and rate plan mapping is complete and tells you exactly what is missing.

Import from the channel

Pulls in the room types and rate plans you have already created in the OTA so you can pair them instead of typing them out.

Encrypted credentials

Keys are stored encrypted and never shown again. Each hotel also has its own webhook secret.

Full resync

When you need to start from scratch, a full sync resends availability, rates and restrictions for the entire horizon.

Inventory

One single pipeline moves availability

A booking from Booking.com, one typed in by the front desk, a group booking and one from your own website all travel exactly the same path inside. Inventory is decremented by the database, not by the application. That is why the classic scenario of two modules stepping on each other simply does not exist.

  • On confirmation, availability is rechecked with the row locked: two concurrent bookings queue up rather than collide
  • Cancelling returns the availability along the same path it was taken from
  • Pushing to the channels is fault-tolerant: if a channel does not respond, your booking is already confirmed and the retry is queued

Rate plans

See which channel each rate plan sells on

Next to every rate plan you see the logos of the channels it is published on, read from the actual mapping that has been sent. Not from a checkbox someone ticked six months ago.

  • Default restrictions per rate plan, which the planner can override day by day
  • Board basis per rate plan: room only, bed and breakfast, half board, full board
  • Inheritance from a parent rate by amount or by percentage

Connected channels

From the household names to the niche that brings you the good guest

Adding a new OTA means adding a configuration file, not rebuilding a screen.

The big ones

Booking.com, Airbnb, Expedia, Agoda, Trip.com, Vrbo, HRS, CHECK24, eDreams.

Bed banks and B2B

Hotelbeds, WebBeds, TravelgateX and World2Meet, to fill up with tour operator and corporate business.

Google

Google Hotel Search and Google Vacation Rentals, so you show up where people compare before they book.

Niches that convert

Hostelworld for hostels, Mr & Mrs Smith for boutique, Pitchup for camping and glamping, HotelTonight for last minute.

Distant markets

Despegar and PriceTravel for Latin America, Traveloka for South-East Asia, Getaroom for the United States.

Your own channel

The Hostelum booking engine is just another channel on the same inventory. No commission per booking.

Frequently asked questions

How long does it take to connect Booking.com?

The technical part takes minutes: you enter the credentials, pair room types and rate plans and run the test. What sets the pace is the OTA approving the connection, which is down to them and usually takes between a day and a week.

What happens if a channel goes down?

Your booking and your local inventory do not depend on the channel responding. The push is best-effort and, if it fails, the row stays pending and is retried. You will see the pending-changes counter in the planner and can force the push with a button.

Can I sell a rate plan on just one channel?

Yes. Mapping is by room type and rate plan, so you can have a non-refundable rate only on Booking.com and a bed-and-breakfast rate only on your own engine.

And if a room type is not mapped?

It does not go on sale. That is deliberate: we would rather not sell a room than sell it without being able to sync its availability, because that is exactly what causes an overbooking.
